In a career within the Petro-Chemical Industry spanning in excess of thirty years, I have been privileged to work for several World-Class International oil and gas producing companies. Initially my activities focussed around my core discipline skill of Control & Instrumentation, with the commissioning and maintenance of systems for the detection of toxic and flammable gas playing a significant role in my daily life.
A subsequent move into a more senior role meant increased responsibility across wider range of Operational activities. With the benefit of this experience, I and two other Senior Operations Managers from within the Oil and Gas Industry formed OPTIS Europe Ltd in early 2000.
As a Company that specialises in Operations Management, OPTIS Europe continues to provide operations expertise to both Client and Contract groups around the world. We provide the operational systems and processes to facilitate safe and rapid recovery of Capital Investment by ensuring that facilities are ready to operate in a safe, effective and environmentally benign manner.

With many years experience as an operative in process engineering in the pharmaceutical industry I'm committed to achieving excellence and outstanding results.This is particularly important in training and at a time of expansion at JMS I'm looking forward to making a valuable contribution to new initiatives and the exciting challenges ahead!
Having worked closely with engineering departments using the permit to work system I feel ready to apply my knowledge and skills in a training role and maintaining the exceptionally high standard of work associated with JMS Consultants. Most of my career has been spent in a safety conscious environment where attention to detail has been paramount. Relevant and up to date training is also critical to ensuring operations personnel working in hazardous conditions are kept safe. With experience in confined spaces entry and gas detection, I expect to be busy meeting increased client demand for our AGT series of courses and the comprehensive range of health and safety programmes we offer.

Working within the pharmaceutical industry for 25 years, I have managed to gain a wealth of experience in many aspects and fields associated with this type of industry. My career within the industry started as a technician working on the shop floor, moving on to lead role and then on to a supervisory level before taking up a position with the site training and education team. The day to day working environment that I was involved in has very high standards in both safety and quality which has had a good strong influence on my own work ethics. The experience that I gained over the years was very diverse, from the running of the plant on a day to day basis, solving engineering issues, commissioning and de-commissioning buildings, working with permitting systems, working on confined space entry systems and testing, managing and working with project teams and taking up a fire team leader role liaising with the local fire brigade and HSE to ensure that as a top tier COMAH site the company was in a strong position to deal with any issues that may arise.
The final job role that I achieved allowed me to design and deliver relevant training, education and assessments of the working teams across the site ranging from competency in the respective roles, arranging further education to improve the role people were in to providing tool box talks to cover incidents and issues that may occur.
The move I made to JMS Consultants is a further enhancement of my career in training with a company that designs and delivers training/education worldwide to an exceptionally high and safe standard with the support and backing of OPITO who accredit the training. The AGT series of courses that the company deliver are an eye opener for gas testing within any industry.

With many years experience in office administration and supervision I have managed to gain a wealth of experience within the roles I have undertaken.
I have been involved in the Company since it was established 17 years ago and now as the Quality Manager, I am responsible for all issues relating to the Quality Management Standards of the Company and liaise directly with clients to ascertain delegate views on the training they have received. My role is to facilitate the smooth and efficient coordination of the Quality Systems. We are proud of our achievements in the area of quality and regard it as a key component in our policy of continuous quality improvement.
I work with a very competent team who are all equally committed to ensure customer focus and quality delivery.
Having spent 34 years away from home, I came back to Grimsby and joined Optis Europe Ltd in March 2016.
I started out my career within a customer service environment gaining valuable client focused experience. After 18 years I decided to re-train and began a new career path within the Administration and Finance sector, something which I really enjoy.
Over the past 16 years I have developed a strong sense of responsibility and believe a strong work ethic is vital to a Company achieving its goals. With my proven track record of exceeding performance expectations, analytical and problem solving skills I am very much looking forward to building on the success of the JMS Team as well as Optis Europe Ltd.
